Located just a short drive to the east of Melbourne, the beautiful Blue Dandenong Ranges are home to colorful native birds, fern gullies and tall mountain ash eucalyptus. Make a visit to the quaint mountain village of Sassafras. Tour through quaint mountain villages noted for their restaurants and craft shops. Purchase a couple or of craft pieces to carry home as souvenirs. Puffing Billy steam train-an original steam locomotive, Victoria's most unique attractions. You will delight to the sounds of the whistle and the steam as you ride Puffing Billy through the forest.
Healesville Sanctuary has the largest collection of Australian wildlife. You can walk through the bushland, talk to the keepers and observe native animals in their habitats.

Yarra Valley Wineries

Enjoy the bliss of the Yarra River, breathing in the fresh and reviving air. For an ecstatic treat for your taste buds, hurry on along the Yarra Valley which envelopes the Fergusson's winery, the Rochford Winery and the Dominique Portet( a boutique family owned winery) and almost hundred other wineries. The wine tastings are soon followed by some scrumptious cheese and crackers.

Ballart Gold Trail
